I ran into some this where i used to work. Typically there was always a way to track down the rightful owner, tracking number, etc...On occasion I'd received a box that wasn't mine and i had no way i contacting the owner of the contents. The shipping company, typically UPS, didn't seem to care. so i'd put the box in the corner, and wait for someone to claim it. If no one claimed it, it was free dibs. Granted, i only ran into it twice in two years. The purchaser should also be doing inventory control to find lost product.
